The Legacy of Color and Irreverent Design

For two decades we have been fortunate enough to call Paul Smith our most colorful collaborator. After a chance encounter in his Notting Hill shop with Christopher Sharp, founder of The Rug Company, Smith first began designing rugs with us in 2000.
Daring, bold and irreverent, his myriad collections feature a diverse assortment of rugs. From traditional aubussons to bright stripes and bold swirls, our new additions pay homage to some of his most iconic and best-loved designs.

“I believe people like the bright colors and the optimism they represent. Optimism isn’t always easy to come by in today’s world, so I think that’s why it stands out.”

Musée Picasso x Paul Smith Installation

Recognized for his approach to creating timeless, colorful designs with a twist, Paul Smith has introduced his iconic rainbow stripes to the Picasso Celebration: The Collection In A Light! exhibition at the Musée Picasso in Paris. We worked with Paul Smith to adapt his signature Stripe rug into a monumental installation that runs from floor to ceiling, providing a playful pathway through the exhibition.
